Hearty Homemade Bean Burgers

The truth behind this Bean Burger is that I was looking for a way to enjoy steak sauce without the meat. What I came up with is a hardy and tasty burger full of protein and fiber. Like all my dishes, it was surprisingly quick and easy to make 🙂

Bean Burger Ingredients:
1 can, your choice, of Beans
2 eggs
1/4 cup oats
1/4 flour
1/4 whole wheat flour
1/4 cup diced onion (more or less)
2 cloves of garlic minced
1 TBSP Worsteserchire sauce or Soy sauce
Salt and Pepper to taste.

In a bowl, lightly mash the beans with a fork.
Add all other ingredients and blend well.
The consistency should be like a lot like overly sticky/moist bread dough.

Heat a non-stick pan to medium and add a touch of oil.
Now drop large spoon fulls of batter into the pan.
Sprinkle with a bit of flour.
Shape the patties with the back of a spatula.
Flip your patties over after a few minutes.
I flipped mine several times until they were firm and golden brown.
♦ Serve them just like you would a burger!
♦♦ Finally, an excuse to use steak sauce in my veggie loving house!!
