Nothing says disgusting like mold and mildew! Unfortunately, if the grout in the shower starts to crack, mold and mildew claim their domain! No need to call the grout doctors or tear it all out. It’s actually a very DIY friendly task. 🙂

January has a common thread throughout the Northern Hemisphere, it’s a dreary, cold, seamlessly long month. However, there is atleast one treasure that arrives in this month, the Hellebore.
Currently, I have a wealth of creativity and construction odds and ends, but very little cash. I have been thinking about making this old planter box into an outdoor bar for years. But in my mind, I was going to get some really beautiful Mexican tiles.. There was going to be an overhang for barstools and possibly a sink!
Well, guess what.. the money dried up and the huge project never happened. But a new idea was born!
I think that just about everyone I know has one of these retro park benches now. When they first came out, they were so cool and classy. However, time has taken it’s toll and many of these benches have become sad, tattered and saggy. But wait! There is a super easy answer to this problem…… drum roll please ••••• Paint!
After a month and a half, the old farmhouse is finally finished! What started out as a moldy, crumbling ghost house is now a clean, fresh 1920’s charmer!
This home that these people built with their own hands and the help of family and friends, seems unreal! It reminds me of the homes that we used to draw as kids for the faeries to live in.
Walking into a disaster like that is like visiting the animal shelter. Sure the dogs and cats have fleas and are down to sickly skinny, but if you look into their eyes, you can see the sweet, loving companion that just needs a little TLC to be the best pet ever!
The trick to pot gardening is to use slightly larger pots, water daily in the summer and add a good time release fertilizer. Beyond that it’s completely up to taste!
